FILING FEE WAIVER POLICY

Filing fee waivers will not be allowed. A person who is filing a petition will be required to pay the filing fee at the time of filing. If a filing fee cannot be paid, the petition will not be processed.

Tribal resolution allows the filing fee to be waived for restraining orders and orders of protection for persons receiving assistance through a domestic violence program.

Consideration may be given for emergency situations or extenuating circumstances. In order to determine qualification, a request to waive filing fee must be filled out explaining the situation and an indigency questionnaire to verify the inability to pay fees.

See Administrative Order 2023-5.0 for further information.
